How to know if you are ready to sell on Amazon
Are you trying to weigh if it’s time to take on the world’s largest online marketplace as part of your e-commerce business? Use this simple Amazon readiness checklist to determine if you’re ready to get started.
Simple Amazon Ready Checklist
At any stage of your e-commerce business, there is always the question. Should your company add Amazon to your online presence and whether you will be successful on Amazon? We will make it as simple as possible for when that thought comes to mind. Below we will go over some top things to focus on if you are considering Amazon.
Enough Amazon Inventory
This means that you are able to keep 3 months worth of inventory at all times. The last thing we would want is for you to build momentum to then go out of stock. Amazon wants their customers to have the best shopping experience possible, so if your listing is out of stock that is a loss for all three parties. When you go out of stock you take a ding to your reliability to Amazon. So before going onto Amazon work out your inventory flow and make sure you never run out.
Brand Registered
Do you have your brand trademarked? If so, this gives you the advantage of not just launching your product on Amazon but your company’s brand. Customers buy high quality products from brands that they trust. When you first go onto Amazon we suggest registering your brand right away so you can start creating your brand with the tools available to only brand owners.
Enough Marketing Budget
This is a crucial step. Remember no one yet knows you are on Amazon. Your marketing budget is what we will leverage to introduce your product/brand to the Amazon customers. On Average our Account managers request a TACOS of at least 10% to be spent on advertising. Take note that this is on a mature Amazon account and will be significantly higher for a brand new account. We will go into more in depth on knowing your marketing budget on a later blog coming soon.
