Mother’s Day Selling Guide for Amazon
Why focus on Mother’s Day?
Mother’s Day is an annual holiday that is a time to focus on mothers and motherhood. Gifts are not only bought for mothers but for sisters, aunts, grandmothers, and maternal bonds. In 2021 Mother’s Day generated $30.3 billion, making it the third-largest retail holiday. The average spent on a Mother’s Day gift was around $124, which is 38.46% higher than the amount spent on Father’s Day.
All of this means that Amazon sellers need to make sure they have a strategy in place to take advantage of the increases. We have put together a list of 3 tips to help you maximize your traffic and customer reach during the next few weeks leading up to Mothers Day.
3 Tips to Maximize Sales this Mothers Day
1. Inventory Check
As with any holiday, you do not want to run out of inventory in the middle of your sale. We recommend you have at least 6-8 weeks of inventory in stock at all times to give enough cushion to handle sudden jumps in traffic and sales.
2. Optimized Listings
Maximize your exposure to potential customers by completing your listing and targeting as many top tier keywords as you can. We recommend double checking your title, bullet points and product description to make sure you have high traffic, high converting keywords in them. Also don’t forget to prioritize images and A+ content as they have both been proven to increase conversion rates.
3. Build a Custom Ad Campaign
This is a great opportunity to start a specific campaign targeting the holiday and with keywords surrounding Mother’s Day. As you can see below, consumers will be searching for gift ideas and you can maximize traffic, and real estate on the page, by targeting those terms. We recommend starting your ad campaign at least 2 weeks prior to the event date and increasing bids and budgets as you get closer to the day!
